Halloween

Call it Halloween, Hallowe'en, Autumn Equinox (not really sure about this, time to check the good ol' grimoire again), The Witches' New Year. It doesn't matter. But it's one of my favorite holidays.

When I was a child, I longed to go out trick-or-treat-ing. Haven't experienced that yet, a pity. It sounded (and still does!) cool, wearing fancy costumes, pretending into someone (or something!) that you are not. The closest that I could get was Halloween in... wait a minute, I honestly can't remember the year. Was it 1993 or 1994? Nengti and I went to a Halloween party in our hometown. No original costumes, though. IIRC we just dressed in black--or were we wearing sixties dresses? I should dig my memory deeper.

Halloween comes and goes in my life. But it always leaves a lasting effect. I always have real-like dreams on Halloween. Most of them are nice. Most of them come true.

Decided to have a small celebration last night. Made baked potatoes with cream and tasty filling, fried wonton. As usual I didn't taste the cooking but the dishes turned out to be delicious. (My partner told me that I'd be an ideal candidate as a cook in Ramadhan) I'm so happy that my partner appreciates my ability. He always does.

Lighted the candle. Prayed and then drifted to slumber, in contentment. Had a fantastic dream.

I hope this one will come true, as well.

It's pretty fun down here with people goes trick-or-treat-ing.

Kids with their costumes, their parents trailing behind..

Not only kids, tho. Heck, I even spotted a storm trooper being chased by a Jedi (complete with a blue lightsaber!)

Lots of candies...

And somehow, the weather is very-very nice tonight. Perfect for going out...

..mm.

It's amazing this year.

...to think that they're actually celebrating the day of the deads, when the veil between worlds are thin, allowing spirits to pass between..

..mmm.

It's just amazing.

Allo Primadonna

... di Eropa, Halloween cuma perayaan impor Amrik yg baru masuk satu dekade terakhir seiring dg pengaruh budaya US.

Lucunya, secara kultural hari tsb dianggap perayaan "all saints" (mungkin ada hub dg kristianitas).

Di France, bernama "Tousaints"
Di Italia pun sama, tapi lupa nama lokalnya.

Keduanya merayakan semua Saints.

suasana hallowe'en? yah... tergantung mau ngerayainnya gimana, sih.

dikau bikin aku sirik, dearest twin!! pokoknya aku harus dibelikan hadiah hallowe'en! *maksa*

hei.. hallowe'en itu dari arab! hahaha... *internal joke banget*
