JUMPA PENULIS BLOGFAM
It was incredibly fun and inspiring. Hope to be able to attend similar events in the future.
isman and I left roughly at midday. We planned to buy a guestbook for the event. Unfortunately we couldn't find one so we just had to make do--so we settled in buying a cute notebook instead. Then we went to a Sundanese restaurant in Jalan Riau, where we were supposed to meet Iya and editors from GPU. We were so excited, because it'd be the first time for us to meet the editors face to face. I was so happy to meet Mbak Ike, Hetih and Rosemary. Their first comment, "Lho, kirain Donna itu gede, ternyata mungil..." Hahaa! The editors are really friendly. I think Mbak Ike is so energetic, Hetih is cute and smart--while Rosemary is oh so sweet. :) Oh by the way, this Rosemary is the one and only Rosemary Kesauly, who's written Kana di Negeri Kiwi and Mamimoma. A talented writer, I might add.
After the energizing lunch, we headed straight to Common Room. It was still quite empty--so we were kind of worried whether we should start the event on time or not. Thankfully, the guests started coming not long after that. I then got the chance to meet Syafrina (Nana), and gosh, we WERE loud!
Around 3, the event began. Allan, Jaf's brother, started by reading Labibah "maknyak" Zain's sharing on the process of publishing Addicted to Weblog. Then my turn came, so I talked about the process of writing and publishing Quarter Life Fear & Belanglicious. Honestly, I don't really remember what I talked about! I just babbled whatever came to my mind that time. Then it was Nana's turn, she shared her experience in trying to publish Life Begins at Fatty. She had to call the publisher (Grasindo) so many times before the book was finally out in the market. Whew, what a long wait! isman then talked about his book, Bertanya atau Mati! in a stand-up comic kind of way. It was amusing. Iya's turn was next, and she shared her experience in writing Lost in Teleporter, MetroPop with a nuance of sci-fi.
Then the second session began. isman and Itha talked about CERFET--Cerpen Estafet in Blogfam. They made some kind of "competition" in writing CERFET. The results were hilarious!
In short, I can say that the event went out very well! Thanks to the sponsors--Blogfam, GPU, Grasindo, Common Room, also the committees and Blogfammers who had made this event possible!
